Both of my kids learned this in a week. It got me thinking that I should do more memorization type things with them. Poems, plays, speeches. Nothing big. Just little things I think are important/fun for them to know.

Oh, definitely. When we used to put Spencer to bed, we would turn on the Book of Mormon reader tapes. He listened to them every night for a year. One FHE, we started to read a story from the reader, and found that he had the whole thing memorized word-for-word. Kids can memorize anything!
