Who Do You Think You Are?

Tralee loves Christina Perri's song Jar of Hearts.  She asks us to play it all the time.  When she's asked us to repeat it a few times, she'll usually say, "I fink (think) Hunty wants to hear it now."  So then we'll play the song again for "Hunter."  While the kids and I were waiting for Jim to get done with work last night, I captured this video of Tralee singing the chorus.  I tried to do it with her not knowing.  Also, the image quality isn't the best cause it was at night, and the vid was taken with my phone, but you can sure hear Tralee belting out the lyrics.  What do you think, do we have a future superstar on our hands?

Out

We're in Salt Lake City right now, thus the lack of posts.  The kids and I have been playing all day long while Jim has been working.  We'll get home from this work/play trip in a few days, and then will promptly leave for another work/play trip to the Midwest the day after we get home.  Crazy!  Just know that the lack of posts means that we're busy traveling and having fun.  So, don't cry.  All is well with the Jacobs clan.  We're just not blogging much until life resumes as normal.

Frozen

Tralee had to give the scripture in Primary yesterday.  We worked on it all week, and by Sunday she had it memorized perfectly.  When her time came to give the scripture, she got up to the podium and. . . nothing.  She froze.  Jim got up to help her (I had a child from my class on my lap), but he later told me Tralee had it down so well prior to this, that he didn't bother to memorize it himself and he left his own scriptures on his seat.  So, then there were two frozen people looking out into the sea of tiny Primary faces.  Jim looked at me and asked, "how does it go?"  I mouthed to him the beginning, and then pointed out on the wall where the scripture was posted.  Eventually Jim and Tralee got through, but it sure didn't go smoothly.  Right after church we asked Tralee to say the scripture again, and she nailed it.  I guess the pressure got to her this time, I mean, she's only four!  Plus, it was really noisy in the Primary room; too many distractions don't lend well to recitation.  The good news is, Tralee looked perfectly darling up there, and we're proud she powered through, even though she looked like she wanted to be anywhere but up on the stand.  Sweet little girl.

New Do Part Two

When I got home from getting my hair cut on Thursday, the first thing Tralee said was, "I want to get my hair cut just like yours!"  I told her the salon was closed for the night, but maybe on Friday we could go. Tralee's hair needed to be cut anyways (by someone besides me and herself -- oh yeah, she took a go at her own hair about a month ago and my sad attempt to "fix" it just wasn't cutting it (pun intended)).  So, sure enough there was an opening for Tralee on Friday and we took it.  All the way to the beauty salon I asked Tralee, "Are you sure you want to get bangs?  Once you get them they're going to stay like that for a while."  Tralee was sure, so on we drove to get her hair done "just like mommy's."

Tralee got the full treatment, and was so stinkin' cute interacting with all the ladies at the salon.  She told our stylist, "I love your white hair!"  McKinnley (not sure if that's how you spell it) was the lady that did both my hair and Tralee's and she did a GREAT job!  She also had bleach blond hair that apparently looks white to Tralee.  Tralee giggled when she got her hair washed because it tickled.  She also listened so well when McKinnley asked Tralee to look up and hold perfectly still.  Tralee's response was, "I will be still, just like a statue!"  She did so good, and the haircut ended up looking adorable on my lil' munchkin.

Hair cut time.  Tralee insisted on wearing her red sparkly shoes.
She loves her new haircut!

Couldn't get her to look at the camera.
Jim started calling Tralee Leslie because he thinks she looks just like me with our twiner do.  Tralee keeps asking me, "Why does Daddy call my Weswee? (we're still working on her L-sounds).  Anyways, what do you think?  Can you tell we're the mother/daughter combo platter?  Or are we two totally different dishes?  Either way, the bangs were a good ingredient choice.  In fact, Tralee looks so cute I could just eat her right up, bangs and all!

Twins or distant relatives?  Also, check out my boy's saggy diaper in the background.  Whoohoo!  Lookin' good my main man!  Sheesh, I wonder if his mother ever changes him?

In other news, the kids and I hit up the library yesterday, and then went to a local water park/splash pad place with Jim.  We all had a lot of fun, but I won't be going to the water park alone with my kids anytime soon.  There's no way I could watch them both all by myself.  I'm glad Jim came along.  We kept doing the ol' switcheroo.  I would play with Hunter for a bit while Jim played with Tralee, then we'd switch kids.  I don't know what we're going to do if we add a third kid to the mix (that's not an announcement just a quandary.  We have no immediate plans for expanding our brood).

So, in summery yesterday was a fun filled day.

New Do

I got my hair cut today. I was ready for a change. I haven't had bangs since 6th grade and my mom FINALLY gave me permission to grow them out. Now I wanted to try them again. I think I kinda like them. Jim does too, Tralee wants some bangs as well now, and Hunter doesn't really care one way or the other.

The picture quality isn't the greatest. Hunter wanted me to put on the "blue screen" when I sat down at the computer, so that's why the first photo is all blue. Anywho. . . I'm all banged up!

What Tralee Does When She Should Be Sleeping

I put Tralee to bed last night, and a little while later she came downstairs and let me know she couldn't sleep.  Somewhere between putting her to bed, and her coming downstairs she did this:

I found it this morning when I sat down at the computer to check my e-mail.  She had Jim and me in stitches.  Silly little girl!!

More Pics from the Swimming Hole

Hunter throwing sand at Jim

The water was really clear

A few pics of me.  Now there are probably a dozen pics of me on my blog since 2007!
Wahoo!

That's all folks!

My Favorite Little Guy

Jim snapped this photo of Hunter and me camping this weekend.  I kinda love it.
I also took this little video of the kids playing in the swimin' hole.  Enjoy.
