Can I Have a Kiss Please?

The other day I tried to capture Tralee giving me a kiss on film. These are the shots I got.

"No Tralee, don't play with my necklace, give me a kiss."

"No, I didn't hear anything Tralee. Can I have a kiss please?"

"Hey, don't turn away from me! Give me a kiss!"

"Finally!! Was that so hard?"

This Little Girl Makes Me Laugh

Bath Time

Tralee and I worked on a Father's Day craft yesterday. The result of crafting led us to the bathtub so I could wash ink off of Tralee before it got everywhere else. While in the tub Tralee decided it would be a good time to drop the little kiddies off at the pool -- if you catch my drift. So, I cleaned out bath numeral uno, disinfected the tub, and Tralee had another bath to wash bath one off of her. These are pictures from bath two.

Tralee likes to try and eat the bubbles, so she usually ends up with a bubble goatee (is that how it's spelled?).

I wanted to join in the bubble facial-hair fun.
Here we are together showing off our bubble beards

Tralee started sucking on her toes while in the tub. That was a new thing.

That's all for now.

Same Old Thang

We're back to normal. Adrienne and her girls are gone, and our house is settling back down to the normal routine. There really isn't much to post about. I'm racking my brain for something exciting to type, and nothing is coming.

I've been working on a blog book. For those of you who don't know you can download your blog onto a program that creates an actual book of your posts. You can go to blurb.com to check out the free software.

I've also been working on typing up my old childhood journals onto a blog. If you're interested you can check it out at dearnikiloveleslie.blogspot.com . Remember, I was twelve years old, so I was a little emotional and weird.

Tralee has been cute. She's doing a lot more babbling and grunting, but no real words yet. She uses baby sign to get her basic needs met, and I try to get her to say the word before I give into her demands. . . no luck. She'll get it though. I can see her little mind working behind those big, beautiful, brown eyes.

That's all for now. I'm tired and I want to start reading Specials. It came in the mail from Amazon today. Hooray!

Cake Eating Contest

Towards the end of Thursday night's BBQ we came up with a great idea. Instead of throwing the rest of a chocolate cake away, Jim and Cassi should have a cake eating contest. There are no words to describe. . . just look at the pictures.

Before snarfing up the incredibly rich chocolaty mess

Digging In

Slowing down considerably, and feeling a bit sick. Tandra had to tag-team in at some point for both of them.

Tandra's Turn
Jim, in some desperate need of milk

Cassi, also in need of some milk

There really are no words.

They both agreed to concede. There was no loser or winner. Just some crazy people with chocolate covered faces and belly aches. The later went away swiftly after a full glass of milk was administered. I think they'll be laying off chocolate cake for a while though.

A Few Good Shots from the BBQ

Thursday night Tricia and Jeff hosted a BBQ for Adrienne and the girls, and invited all the family from around here to come. The kids ran around, the adults visited, some adults ran around with the kids, and general merriment was had. I didn't take very many pictures because I was keeping an eye on Tralee who wanted to walk into the camp fire. But, here are a few shots that turned out okay. The first one was taken by Cassi who was on camera duty for Adrienne. Jim, some cousins, and Uncle Dave were playing Bocce Ball.

Cassi and Me

Tralee enjoying the tire swing. She kept saying "Weeeeeee!" in her cute little way.

Tandra and Cassi

Over the last few years we haven't been able to see our nieces Tandra and Cassi as much as we would like to. They moved to St. George and we moved to Boise, so we live further apart than we used to. Having them stay with us the last few days was a lot of fun. They are very mature, smart, funny, helpful, lovely girls, and we miss them already.

Tralee had a good time with Tandra and Cassi as well. I REALLY liked having them here, because they were more than willing to help with Tralee. I needed someone to keep an eye on Tralee in the bath while I grabbed something, and they both volunteered. When I needed someone to get a diaper for me, they both jumped up and were ready to help. Jim and I joked around that we needed one of them to cut the grass for us, and Cassi got a scissors and started hacking away until we forced her to stop. Even though she knew we were kidding, she still wanted to help. There were numerous occasions that Tandra and Cassi lent a helping hand. They're such good girls, and we can't wait to spend time with them again!
