I tried to be sneaky and slip into the Girl's Trip: NYC Style post that I'm pregnant. Some of you caught it and sent your congrats my way, and some of you probably didn't read through that extremely long post to discover that, yes, I'm with child. I've been asked for details from some, so I'll post them here:
I'm due May 6th, 2009 . . . that makes me 13 weeks into this pregnancy.
Jim and I will find out what we're having in another month or so (I hope it's a baby!!!). We'll keep you posted.
Here's the baby's first picture taken at appointment numeral uno. I was almost eight weeks preggers then. For those of you who don't know, the baby is the thing inside the black circle that looks like a peanut.
I'm feeling ok. I get tired a lot, and I feel like I'm starving all the time, even after I JUST ate a rather large meal. If I don't eat every few hours I start feeling sick, so then I eat and all is well again. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and feel like I haven't eaten in weeks. On these nights I try to fall back asleep, but most of the time I find my way to the kitchen and pour myself a bowl of cereal.
Jim and I are excited, Jim more so than me. I'm worried about going from one baby to two. How will I divide my time between them? Will I love the second as much as I love Tralee? How will it be with two in diapers? Am I really ready for those 2am feedings again? etc, etc. When I start thinking like this I get a little overwhelmed, so most days I call upon my dear friend Denial to help keep me comfortable. Denial tells me if you don't really think about it, then it can't really happen, right? I know the day will come when I'll be forced to discover the answers to those looming questions. But, until these concerns are thrown in my face, I'll just stay comfortable with Denial and midnight cereal splurges.
Ooo! We are only 5 days apart on our due dates. I've been feeling about the same as you...I'm happy to be slowly getting over the extreme exhaustion phase.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you guys. You're a great mommy, and you'll be great for 2 as well!
ReplyDeleteif i can do it, you can do it. you'll do just great and be a wonderful mommy, and you might have to sit down and cry with them both (i became a PRO at this)...and you can always just pretend you're hearing voices when you're sitting in a corner rocking back and forth alone (this reduces guilt of not having a clue how to help either of them).
ReplyDeletewow! It seems lie everyone is pregnant! CONGRATS!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!! This is wonderful. You are a week or two behind me! There must be something in the water. Good luck with the pregnancy! Congrats again!
ReplyDeleteOnly 189 days to go!! Woo! I'm doing a 10:30 cereal binge right now.
ReplyDeleteOh Leslie!! Trust me...you WILL love the second one as much as the first...it just happens!! And you will naturally divide your time and love them both. My baby was eight months old (but more like 6 months) when I had another baby, and they both got lots of love and attention. It can be really hard at times but us women are MADE to love lots of babies, and care for them...it's just natural...don't worry about it. You are an amazing mom!!! I am SO SO happy for you!!!
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way when I was pregnant with Rylee. It's overwhelming to think about, but I know you will do great when baby get's here. Once Rylee got here, everything just fell into place. I was also worried that I wouldn't have enough love for both, or that I would favor one over the other, but you'll be surprised at how much love your heart is actually capable of. You will be such a wonderful mom to 2 kids, I'm really excited for you! I keep meaning to call you to see if you want to get together for a playdate, so when you're feeling better let's get together!
ReplyDeleteYay!!! I wanted to tell congrats after I read your mother's blog, so I'm glad you finally posted! I'm so excited for you!
ReplyDeleteI seriously thought you had a friend named Denial. I'm a little slow. You'll do fine w/2. your life is changed forever!...again...but even more so w/2.
ReplyDeleteLeslie, How fun that you will have a friend for Tralee! Of course you'll love the next one. I think I actually like Braden more than Mason, so who knows, you might be in for a great surprise! Ha!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for Jim--yeah, go ahead and yell at him for me. I have been patient, but tomorrow is Nov. 1st, and he told me the end of Sept . . .Sure love you guys, and we're thrilled for your news.
Congrats Leslie! Crazy thing, we have the EXACT same due date!! (Don't think too much about it - it will gross you out;) Cuz I have to do c-sections, the dr. talked about taking it Apr 29, but I think I talked him into doing it on May Day since Tori is a holiday baby! It will be fun to compare "notes" over the next few months!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Two is way better than jumping to three. The Halloween pictures were really cute. It is fun to see what is going on with you guys. Love Jen (Matt's sister)
